Earl Projects is an Australian, family-owned investment business with a focus on property, multi-residential and mixed-use development. Based in Melbourne the company has a keen interest in property in Hobart where managing director, Claire Earl, was born and raised. Claire and Geoff Earl began investing in property in London in 2009 and started Earl Projects in 2016 after relocating back to Melbourne. Inspired by Alain De Botton’s The Architecture of Happiness, Earl Projects’ mission is to create homes that are a joy to live in. Endeavours to achieve this begin with selecting only prime locations, highly connected to amenities but also offering abundant green space for residents.
Carta Group was established in 2008 by Paul and Chrissi Hayward, following the sale of their long-time and highly successful furniture distribution business in Australia and New Zealand. The goal was to specialise in projects around inner suburban Melbourne. Carta quickly made a mark on the industry with innovative projects like Centennial Apartments in Kensington, and Hull Apartments in Richmond. The decade following has seen, amongst multiple others, a Tasmanian heritage renovation challenge in Battery Point (with Earl Projects, 2018), and Newry Richmond (2018) an acclaimed project with Fieldwork - which redefined the innovative inner-city townhouse design market. More recently, Alexandra Apartments (OLA Studios) in Clifton Hill has been Carta’s primary focus, seeing a very successful delivery of 33 apartments in December 2021. Paul and Chrissi have recently been joined in Carta Group by their son Ryan, who has relocated to Hobart to manage this new project, to ensure a first-class result is again achieved.
